Book 1 Page 285 MICHAEL&MARGARET MASTER to PETER LINEBARGER - 300 acres in 1770 This Indenture Made the day in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy. Between Michael Master & Margaret his wife of the prov- ince of North Carolina & county of Tryon of the one part, and Peter Linebarger of the same County of the others Witnefseth that for and in consideration of the sum of pounds procln. Money to the said Michael Master and Margaret his wife in hand paid by the said Peter Linebarger at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, hat granted bargained, sold, aliened, enfcorfed, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant bargain sell allien convey & confirm unto the said Peter Linebarger his heirs and afsigns forever, one Certain tract of land containing by estimation Three hundred acres of land by the same more or left. Situate lying and being the said county of Tryon and on a No. branch ofClarks Creek joining George Pofses land. Beginning at a white oak Pofs corner & runs N 9 W. 220 poles to a white oak & pine then N81 EL 220 poles to a White Oak & hickory, thence So 9 E. 220 poles to a hickory and black oak and thence to the beginning, the patent granted to me said Michael Master bearing date the 23d. day of December 1768 with appurtenances, situate lying and being as aforesaid with their and every of there rights, members & appurtenances whatsoever and the reversion & reversions. Remainder & remainders of all and singular the land tenements hereditaments & premises hereby granted or intended to be granted and of every part and parcel thereof and all rents ifsues services and profits to them or any of them or any part or parcel of them, or any of them incident belonging or appertaining and also all and every the estate and estates rights titles claims, interest and demands whatsoever of him the said Michael Master and Margaret his wife of or into the said land tenements hereditaments and premises hereby granted or [ ] -tioned to be granted or any of them or any put or parcel of them to have and to hoM the said lands tenements hereditaments and premises hereby granted with their appurtenances Page 286 appurtenances to the sd. Peter Linebarger his heirs and afsigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Peter Linebarger his heirs and afiigns forever, and the said Michael Master and Margareet his wife for themselves their heirs exes. & adms. Doth here promise covenant and agree that he the said Michael Master & Margaret his wife their heirs Execs. &, Adms. Shall & will at all times warrant and forever defend the said premises to the laid Peter Linebarger his heirs and afsigns against all lawfiil claims or demands whatsoever whereby the above mentioned premises might or may be affected of incumbercd contrary to the true intent and meaning of these presents.
